Wistaria Thrift Shop is open September through early June.
Wistaria Thrift Shop is a local treasure chest for anyone who enjoys shopping and browsing an eclectic mix of inventory. Located on the south of Essick House, adjacent to the parking lot at the rear of the property, Wistaria Thrift Shop is always stocked with a variety of items. A steady flow of generous donations keeps Wistaria stocked with clothing and accessories for women, men, children and infants, household items, toys, electronics and more.
Every shopper should take a peek inside “Uncle Bill’s House,” the small separate structure just outside of the main Wistaria entrance, where shoppers can find other odds and ends, including tools, luggage, small furniture pieces and more.
Wistaria accepts donations of clean and gently-used items, preferably during business hours. However, we are not able to arrange for pick-up of donated items. Unfortunately, we DO NOT have the space to accept, store or display donations of large appliances or furniture (couches, beds, love seats, dressers, etc.) We also do not accept cribs, cradles, and children’s car seats.

Why ‘Wistaria’, not ‘Wisteria’?
“Wistaria’ is the British spelling for the flowering vine for which Sierra Madre is famous. Our Thrift Shop pays homage to the history of our city and its famous landmark with our Wistaria Thrift Shop. The accepted American English spelling, ‘wisteria’, grew in popularity after Sierra Madre was established. Wisteria flowers symbolize love, creativity, and a long life, all of which we hope to embody as a club. For more information, click here.
